Fairs in a new social distanced Coronavirus world..
It’s been over 9 months since we were last out and about and we all know why that is, but things are slowly starting to open up. It was a really tough decision whether to start fairs again and if we (exhibitors) were apprehensive then so must you (our lovely customers and friends).
Thoughts that popped through our heads:
-
How do we manage 2m distancing?
-
Will people wear masks?
-
Will people want to sanitise?
-
How to we keep our stall and customers safe?
So many thoughts, and even more at 4am the day of set up….
So what actually happened?
-
Like always we planned our stall so that people enter and take their time to browse, vs standing in the corridors that this format really worked. We had a larger stand than usual and we worked out that we could have 2 groups of 2 in the stall at once (one on each side) whilst maintaining 2m distancing.
-
Customers would wait if they wanted to come in, or even came back later if the stall was too busy.
-
Everyone wore masks, and “spritzed” (a nicer word than sanitised!),
It’s funny usually our conversation goes:
-
“Mum and I make practical versatile bags for you and your family; would you like to have a look? “
-
But it’s now changed to “Please feel free come into our stall if you would like, if you would like to touch any thing please can you ensure that you spritz, or if you don’t want to touch any of our bags, then please ask and I will assist you!”
So much in the world has changed but somethings never change. We chatted with fellow exhibitors, we met new customers, we chatted with existing customers/ friends, we talked so much with strangers and it was lovely and we can’t wait to get back out again.
